Brand Top 5 - Bourjois

I kicked off this series a couple of weeks ago with my top 5 Rimmel products and thought I'd continue with a recent drugstore favourite, Bourjois. For the longest time, I had very few Bourjois products in my makeup stash, but over the past year or so I feel like they've really stepped up their game and some of their new releases have become firm favourites of mine.

123 Perfect CC Cream This has been my go to base this summer, especially when we had that little heatwave in July, as it's a very light base to wear. Considering it's so light, it gives pretty decent coverage and the colour correcting pigments leave your skin looking lovely and even-toned. As the weather is starting to get a little chillier now, and I'm looking for a little more coverage from my base, this has now been tucked away in my makeup stash, but I;m sure I'll be reaching for it again for "no makeup makeup" days, and it will most definitely be a big feature again next spring/summer.

Healthy Mix Foundation Another brilliant base from Bourjois! First off, the fruity scent of this foundation is gorgeous. It's slightly more coverage than the CC cream, you're going to get more of a medium coverage with this one but it still feels quite light on the skin. It gives a nice healthy, radiant glow to this skin, without being too shiny, and is also pretty hydrating which is good for my dry skin. Don't worry if you have oilier skin - there's also a Healthy Mix Serum that would suit you skin type, and I've heard this is pretty good too!

Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder Looks like chocolate, smells like chocolate - what's not to love? This bronzer is ideal for contouring and an all over bronzed look. It does have the tiniest hint of shimmer to it, but it gives more of a radiance to your skin, rather than looking like a disco ball. What I like about this bronzer is that your brush doesn't pick up too much product, so even the heaviest handed people can create a subtle look with this one, but it's still very buildable and the product blends out really nicely.

Cream Blushes Having been a powder blush girl all the way in the past, I've really gotten into cream blushes this year and have found a few favourite brands for these (Topshop and Sleek are also top of my list). The Bourjois cream blushes come in their famous little round pots, which makes them great for carrying around in your makeup bag, plus they have a little mirror in the lip - even better for travelling! They are so soft and creamy to apply, and blend out beautifully to leave a subtle flush to your cheeks.

Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks These, along with the Revlon matte balms, have been one of my favourite lip product launches of this year. They apply nice and smoothly to the lips and leave a matte finish without being drying at all. Best of all, they last for hours! You can go on a night out, eating and drinking, and this product will stay put. That obviously comes with the downside of being pretty damn hard to remove, but that's something I'm willing to face for such beautiful, long lasting colour.

What are your favourite Bourjois products? What brand top 5 would you like to see on my blog next?

  2. I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the Revlon, so they're not an option for me but the Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks look really interesting! I'm just trying to decide which shade to get! I really like the Bourjois blushes, both powder & creme. Xx
