My Top 3 Mascaras

For the longest time I struggled to find a mascara that I liked, always flitting from one to the other without finding one that really impressed me. I did a bit of research before purchasing my mascaras over the past year or so, and I've now found three that I would definitely consider repurchasing.

Maybelline The Rocket £7.99

When I first bought this, I have to admit I wasn't that keen on it. It was quite a wet formula, so you'd have to be so careful not to blink and make a mess when you first applied it. Once I'd left it to dry out a little, it was like using a completely different mascara. You can create quite a dramatic look with a few coats of this mascara, and it holds a curl really well. I have the waterproof version, which definitely does the job, and doesn't clump or flake.

Max Factor False Lash Effect £10.99

When asking for recommendations of a new drugstore mascara to try a few months back, this one cropped up time and time again, and now I can see why. With just one coat of this mascara you can create a really natural, but done, look with this mascara, which I find perfect for work days. It's really buildable though to get the perfect false lash look. This one is my favourite everyday mascara.

YSL Babydoll £24.50

If this mascara wasn't so expensive, it would be in my makeup stash all the time. The length this mascara gives you is insane. They look super long and dramatic even after the first coat. It's definitely not one for you if you're looking for a natural look - I tend to save this one for nights out when I want something a little more standout. This is most definitely the best high end mascara I've tried, as I've tended to be disappointed with a lot of them in the past.

Have you tried any of these products? What's your favourite mascara?

  3. Love the YSL Babydoll!! Though I still think I like the Guerlain MaxiLash mascara I've been using lately just a tad bit better. Though with both of them I had to open them and come back to them since they're both pretty wet formulas.

  4. I rarely go for high end mascaras either as I've been massively let down in the past but the YSL one came highly recommended. There's so many good ones on the high street at the moment though xx
