Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Some of you may remember a couple of months ago that I reviewed the Loreal Micellar Solution and, whilst I liked the idea of micellar waters, there were a couple of bug bears I had with the Loreal version which was stopping me from loving it. After reading so many good reviews of Garnier's offering, I decided this one would be the next on my to try list.

I've found that the things I liked about the Loreal product are still present with this product too. It's really gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't dry it out like a lot of other cleansers do. But what has made this product a winner for me is that Garnier have solved the issues I was having with my Loreal alternative.

One of my biggest problems with the Loreal micellar solution was the amount of wastage there seemed to be. The hole at the top of the bottle, which dispensed the product, was quite large for a water-based product, so it would often come spilling out and more of it would end up on my carpet than on my face! This is a problem I don't face with the Garnier micellar water, as much less product is much slower to come out of the bottle, giving me more control over how much product actually gets used up.

I've also found it a lot easier to remove waterproof eye makeup. I found that the Loreal solution just wasn't removing much of it at all - no matter how long I left my cotton pad on my eye, or how much I scrubbed away at them, I would still wake up with panda eyes the next morning, not a good look. You do still have to leave the pads on your eyes for a while, but once you wipe away, the Garnier solution has got the job done, and all traces of mascara are removed.

If you're looking to delve into the world of micellar waters and want good value for money, I'd definitely recommend the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. It's suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types and is a really good makeup remover. It's cheaper than the likes of beauty blogger favourite Bioderma, and is much more readily available in the UK. Whilst it falls into the same price bracket as the Loreal Micellar Solution, at £4.99 (but quite often on offer for less) for 400ml you double the product from Garnier and, in my opinion it's a winner in terms of the quality too.

Have you tried the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water? What do you use to remove your makeup?

  2. I haven't tried this one, but i've heard great things! I use the L'oreal one currently and the amount of product wastage really annoys me, too xx
