Perfect For Autumn - Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Palette

This little beauty has been sat patiently waiting in my drawer since I bought it back in July, but now it feels like autumn is finally upon us, I've decided to whip it out and keep it in my everyday makeup stash. This was my first delve into Charlotte Tilbury makeup, which I'd been dying to try ever since the launch and whilst I had a little play around with it when I first purchased the palette, the autumnal shades meant I wasn't going to get this best out of it until now.

The shades don't have names but on the back of the palette it explains what each of the shades purpose is. So, clockwise from top left we have the "prime" shade, for use all over the lid as your base, the "enhance" shade which you pop in your crease. If I just want a really simple daytime look, then I might just leave it there, but if I want something a little darker and more dramatic, I'll pop on the "smoke" shade too. The "pop" shade in the bottom left is well and truly saved for evenings only, as it is really dramatic and adds sparkle to your look.

The first three shades are all slightly shimmery which I really like - not too over the top but adds a little something when you don't fancy rocking the matte look. The forth shade is packed full of glitter, so be warned it is prone to a bit of fallout, but the finish it gives is beautiful if you've got the patience. I'd suggest if your going for the full evening look, that you apply your eye makeup before your base, to avoid the glitter sticking to your foundation.

Whilst the pigmentation is not quite on an Urban Decay level, it's still really good and the shadows apply to the lids and blend really nicely - I'd say they are the smoothest shadows I've used, The colours scream out autumn to me, particularly the "enhance" shade, which is a burnt red with a hint of gold shimmer. The packaging is really sleek and luxurious, It's great for travelling too, which the compact quad size and handy mirror in the lid - it would be a great palette to take with you if you were going away for a Christmas party in the next couple of months.

I think Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows are really good quality and worth the slightly large £38 price tag for that little bit of luxury. It's something gorgeous to treat yourself to - I've got my eye on The Golden Goddess palette next! I'd also recommend picking up one of the Rock n' Kohl eyeliners just to complete the look. I have the shade Barbarella Brown, which goes really nicely with this palette.

Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury makeup? Do you have your eye on any of the palettes?

  3. This is such a gorgeous palette, it's too similar to a bobbi brown palette that I have for me to justify buying it but it's so, so pretty.

  6. I've been tempted by this palette for a long time now. I think the fact I wouldn't wear the fourth 'glittery' shade does put me off. I love the CT Colour Chameleon Shadow Pencils - so easy to use…x
