Creative Christmas Ideas

Christmas is always a time that inspires my creative side. It's always nice to do some little DIY projects, especially if you've got young ones that can get involved. Making things yourself can also save you money on things you would normally just go out and buy, perfect if you're doing Christmas on a budget this year. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

I really wanted to make a few handmade Christmas cards this year. A few years ago, I made cards for every single member of my family, spending a tonne on card stock and embellishments, and sitting down for hours on end to put them together. This year, however, I didn't have a great deal of time, having to squeeze it in to Oliver's nap time, and I had a much smaller budget, so I decided to simplify things and make just a few, with a much simpler but still creative design. My New Project For 2015

One of my New Year's resolutions was to take more photos, as I wanted more memories that I could actually look back on. I have a lot of exciting things going on this year, so I wanted to document them in some way. When I came across Lily's video all about the Project Life scrapbook she kept last year, I knew I'd found the perfect solution, and immediately headed over to the Hobbycraft website to place my order.

Hand Decorated Christmas Stocking

Today's post is something a little different from me. I've been getting a bit crafty recently and decided to make my husband his own stocking this year. That was the intention anyway, but when I saw Hobbycraft has plain red stockings for just two pounds, I decided it was probably safer that I bought a ready made one and just decorated myself! I think this is a great idea if you're struggling to think of things to do with the kids whilst they are off school in the run up to Christmas - or you could even make your own.
