June Beauty Favourites

On the whole, June has been a pretty good month weather wise (admittedly I spent almost half of it abroad!), so a lot of my favourites this month are with the warmer weather in mind. Most of these products are those that I took away with me on holiday, plus a sneaky little purchase I made once I returned home.

I used to use the Caudalie Beauty Elixir in my everyday skincare routine, but it kind of just got tossed to the side after a while and I started using other hydrating toners. I took this mini bottle on holiday with me and it became a lifesaver when it got too hot. It's so cool and refreshing on the face - it feels like you've just stuck your head in the fridge! I'd definitely recommend you take this with you if you're going on holiday somewhere nice and hot this year.

I thought I'd missed out on purchasing MAC's Kelly Yum Yum lipstick. I was on holiday when the Osbourne's collection launched and completely forgot to check online until mid-afternoon, by which time most things, including this and Kelly's eyeshadow palette, had sold out. It was still a few days until I was back in the UK, and I was convinced that my local counter in Birmingham would be completely sold out by then. Instead I took a chance and drove down to Milton Keynes the day we got back to see if Debenhams had anything left (is it really sad that this lipstick was my main reason for wanting to drive over an hour away, on very little sleep?!). I didn't have any luck with the palette, but luckily Kelly Yum Yum was still in stock. It's such a beautiful shade and not as in-your-face bright as Candy Yum Yum. It's been my go to on a night out ever since I bought it!

I'm super pale and even after 10 days in the sun, my face was still quite lacking in colour, so bronzer has been a must for me in the summer, just to perk my face up a little. I took The Body Shop Honey Bronzer away with me on my holiday and I've really loved using it. It's the perfect bronzer for pale skin tones, as it's so subtle you're not in danger of looking like you've been tangoed if you apply a little too much to your brush.

I took my Sleek Pink Lemonade blush palette away with me, but to add a bit of colour variety I also took my Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched, which is more of a peach tone. I bought this a while ago, tried it a few times, then tossed it in one of my makeup boxes. But almost every day without fail, this was the blush I reached for on holiday, and it's gotten regular use since I've been back too - all other blushes have been pretty much redundant this month! It's perfect for adding just a subtle flush of colour to your cheeks.

I spoke about Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara a while ago and didn't really find it to be anything special. I was looking for a waterproof mascara to take with me on holiday and this was the only one I had in my stash which didn't look like it needed throwing out. Rather than go out and spend more money on a brand new mascara, I decided to give this one another chance, and I have to say I've changed my mind completely. It separates the lashes beautifully and gives great volume. I don't know if it's because it's had time to dry out a little since I last used it, but it's like using a different mascara! It's not like it was a terrible mascara to begin with, just nothing special, but now I love it!

What beauty products have you been loving in June?

  2. I've read great things about the Body Shop bronzer for pale skin ladies. I think it's finally time to take the plunge and get one...or rather wait for one of their offers and get one ;-)
