My favourite products from Lush are their lip scrubs. My flavour of choice is Bubblegum, which smells and tastes divine - I've often been tempted to apply some more, just so I can lick it off! This sugar scrub removes any trace of dry flaky skin from your lips, without being too harsh on them. The only thing that can be a little annoying is you can sometimes get a bit messy and look like you've just been scoffing a sugary doughnut, so I would apply this on the go! I use this morning and night, during my skincare routine.
I always follow my lip scrub with the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. This was one of my top discoveries from last year (yes, I took me that long!), and has so many uses other than for your lips, although this is my main use for it. It gives my lips a lovely boost of hydration and leaves them feeling lovely and smooth. I apply this about 20 minutes before I start my makeup in the morning - if you don't leave it to absorb into your lips, it can make applying lipstick a little tricky & slippy!
For a moisture top-up throughout the day, I use Chapstick (the strawberry flavour is my favourite - yummy!). Believe it or not, I first discovered this when I won it as part of a raffle prize at Slimming World! Previously, I'd always used Vaseline, but found that it just sat on my lips and didn't really do anything for them. Chapstick leaves my lips buttery smooth, without leaving them feeling slippery, and gives around 2-3 hours of moisture before another coat is needed, which is better than a lot of other lip balms I have tried.
If I know I'm going to be out in the cold a lot during the day, I'll always opt for the Revlon Lip Butters as my lip colour for the day, as my lips are less likely to dry out wearing them. They are so much more moisturising than a regular lipstick, but still have a good colour pay off for most of their shades. These were another favourite discovery of mine during 2013, and I have a nice little collection of these now. There are so many different shades to choose from, ranging from neutrals to brights, so you'll never be stuck for choice.
What products do you use to combat dry lips in the winter?
My lips are terribly dry at the moment. I've got a pot of the 8 Hour Cream which sits on my desk, but usually, I apply Carmex as I find it's the only thing that actually gets rid of my dry skin.

I can't live without my 8 hour cream. Never tried carmex before, sounds like its a good cheaper alternative xx
Delete8 Hr Cream is such a classic. I actually love Chanels Rouge Coco Baume the most, it healed a cut I got from dryness!

It is a classic - useful for so many things other than dry lips too xx
DeleteLovely post. Sounds so horrendous but I actually eat the bubblegum lip scrub from lush hahah. I need to deffo get on the 8 Hour Cream bandwagon as I have yet to try it. I normally just stick to the Nuxe Reve de Meil.
