I can't believe Christmas Day is almost here. I've had the most amazing time being off work this year and enjoying the entire build up with my little boy! Today I thought I'd share with you some of my festive favourites, feel free to share yours in the comments too!

My Perfect Winter Night In

I'm not one for big nights out at any time of your, but particularly in the winter. I'm much more content snuggling up for a cosy night in at home. It's warmer, it's cheaper, and nothing beats the comfort of your own home, especially in the run up to Christmas with the lights from the tree sparkling. I like to switch my makeup collection up a bit on a regular basis, just so that I don't have products that sit in my drawers forever, going unloved. Now we are into December, my makeup bag has had a bit of a festive makeover. Here are the products I'll be reaching for most over the next few weeks.

My Newborn Essentials

When you're pregnant you're bombarded with giant lists of things you absolutely must get for your little ones arrival. Whilst most of it can be useful, some of the items are just completely unnecessary. My Favourite Ways To Pass Time Without Technology

I'll admit, one of my favourite ways ever to spend my spare time is having a good old YouTube marathon, but I've become a firm believer that we should be spending less time with our gadgets, and more time doing the simpler things that we used to do, especially in the late evenings, as too much time on our phones etc before bed can disrupt our sleep. I must admit, I don't go on many date nights anymore! I think it's still important to make the effort now & again, but a lot of mine & my husbands money is being poured into baby prep at the moment, so I'm hoping once he's here, we'll be able to sneak out for a few date evenings to make up for it! However, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought I'd share with you what products I'd currently wear for a date night with my other half.

What's In My New Acrylic Storage

So I'm using the term "new" in the title quite loosely here - I actually got this acrylic storage set off my in-laws for my birthday, in July, but it's taken til now, and a little furniture move around, for me to get around to chucking out my manky old Muji, and putting this to good use. I have to say, I prefer this much more to my old Muji setup. I can fit so much more in here, plus I absolutely adore the space to store lipsticks etc on the top. So, here's a little tour around my new storage system, and which of my most used products I'm currently keeping in there.

High End Products Worth Splashing Out On

I really like saving up and making a high end makeup purchase. The packaging always seems prettier and more luxurious, and there's just something so satisfying about walking away with that new designer purchase. Don't get me wrong though, there's a few pricier purchases that I've been less happy with, and plenty of drugstore items I've loved just as much, so it can be tricky to know when to splurge out, or when to save your pennies on a cheaper alternative. Here are my top higher end purchases that I've loved and would definitely make again.

Fuss Free Makeup Menu

What I'd give for an extra 15 minutes in bed sometimes! If I can get that, and sacrifice part of my makeup routine, then damn it I will! Luckily, I've got a great number of products in makeup stash that take minimal effort to apply, I can just quickly swipe on & go in no time at all. In fact, I'm loving my sleep so much at the moment (symptom of pregnancy I'm guessing) that this has become my go to makeup look, particularly on weekdays when getting out of bed becomes that little bit harder!

I love YouTube. It's the perfect way to kill a few hours on a lazy afternoon, or to perk myself up when I'm not feeling too great. Quite often a YouTube marathon whilst laying in the bath will be a part of my pamper night routine. Whilst I also love reading blogs, I find watching a video is so much easier to do, it requires a lot less effort. I thought I'd share with you my current favourites, in case you're looking for any inspiration on channels to subscribe to. You'll see I'm still very much loving the vloggers at the moment.

Most Used Products Of 2016

I don't think I really made too many new beauty discoveries in 2016, certainly not compared to previous years anyway. For me, my priorities changed and I'd much rather have gone out and bought clothes & essentials for my unborn child, or more practical items, than lots of treats for myself (that's not to say I didn't every now & again!). For me, 2016 was more about discovering what worked for me beauty wise and then sticking with that, so there aren't many new launches as such within this post, though a few were new to me personally this year. So here's my run down of my most reached for products throughout 2016.

When it comes to fragrances I don't think I have a particularly large collection. I know what I like and I tend to stick with the same brands (Marc Jacobs in particular!). They are often quite a pricey product to invest in, so I always want to know I've made a good choice before purchasing. Vlogs - Why I Love Them & My Favourites

I've been watching YouTube videos for years now. One of my favourite things to do on a lazy day is to snuggle up in bed with my iPad and make a serious dent in my Watch Later list. I've found that recently my Watch Later is being taken up more and more by vlogs as opposed to the typical beauty & fashion sit down videos that I used to watch so often. So why do I love them so much? And who do I enjoy watching?

My Happy List

A few days ago I talked about the steps I've taken to becoming a more positive person, one of those being to think of those things in life that I'm truly grateful for. Since I started doing this, I've put together a "happy list" on my phone that I look back on when I'm having a bit of an off day, just to remind myself of all of those little pleasures that make life great. I now have fifty things on this list, all just little things that make me smile, so as I'm at a nice round number I thought I'd now share that list with you. So, aside from the obvious friends, family and home, here's what else makes me happy in life.

CDs I'll Never Throw Out

I know we've turned into a society where digital music is the norm these days, but I personally still love a good CD. There's something about having a physical copy of my favourite albums that I like, and they're especially handy to have in the car when you're fed up of the radio. My own music tastes are pretty mixed, though I'd say the majority of what's in the charts I'd listen to. I recently had a huge clear out of my CD and DVD collection before I moved house in February, but there were some that I just could not get rid of. Here's five of my favourite from my remaining collection, that I honestly could not ever see myself throwing out.

My Top Five MAC Lipsticks

It's been a while now since my A Month Of MAC posts, where I showed you a different MAC lipstick in my collection each day of the month. MAC lipsticks are my all time favourite for both formula and colour selection. There's so much to choose from it can be a little overwhelming at times!
