Sorry that this blog post is almost 12 hours late!! Like a fool I'd left it until this morning to actually write the post, and due to a few technical difficulties I wasn't able to get the post up before I had to leave for work! Ah well, lesson learned.

I've been going a bit nuts for homeware recently, and have been thinking of ways to liven up various different rooms in my home. Having made a start by ordering a new sofa for the living room today (excited!), my attention has also turned to the beauty/desk space in the spare room.

As you can see, I'm loving the gold accents at the moment, and thought the plate and candle would go so well together. I have a few earthy, grey tones in there already, so thought the heart frames would look really nice with them - I don't have any photo frames in this part of my home, weirdly, so I thought it was time to pick some up.

My favourite find I think has to be the cat cushion - it's so cute!! There were a few cat cushions on the M&Co website, but this sketchy look I thought would suit the decor best. This will definitely be the first item I purchase!

I've been wanting to find some sort of plaque or hanging with a quote on for a while, and I thought this one from Wilko was perfect. It fits with the earthy tones already on my wall, and I loved the quote. "Do what you love everyday" is something I really need to learn to live by.

Lastly, I really needed to find some more storage for my beauty bits and pieces. I know every blogger and their dog has the Ikea plant pots to store their makeup brushes in, but they are really pretty and I am in desperate need of another brush holder! At the moment I have nothing pretty to store my cotton pads in and just leave them on my dressing table in the packet, To make them easily accessible, but nicely hidden, I'm thinking of picking up this ceramic box from H&M.
