January Beauty Favourites

So January came and went pretty quickly. It's been my first full month of blogging and I'm absolutely loving it so far. Picking my monthly favourites for January was a lot easier than I thought it would be - I've tended to stick with products I know I love this month but I intend to be a lot more experimental with products in February. After payday I went on a huge shopping trip and picked up a lot of new beauty bits, which you will be able to see in a haul post in the next few days, so hopefully I'll have a few new favourites for next month.

First up for this month's favourites is the Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub. This is quite possibly the best scrub I have ever tried. It smells great, removes dead skin really well whilst being gentle and soft on my skin. If you'd like to read about this product in a little more detail, you can find my full review here. It's also fantastic value for money - I've been using it 3 times a week since I got it at Christmas and it looks like I've barely used it from the amount left in the tub. The only thing that annoys me with this a little is that, because it comes in a tub, you often get water in it whilst the lid is off when you apply it. Not a massive problem because you can shake most of it out, but it may be a little better if it came in a tube.

Next up is my Naked Palette. I have to admit, at the start of the month a really did think that the Naked 3 would be making it into my January favourites. I got the palette from my boyfriend for Christmas and the colours are absolutely stunning and, as always with Urban Decay eyeshadows, the formula was spot on. I used the Naked 3 everyday for about a week or so but after a while, as always seems to happen, I went back to my trusty original Naked palette. I have a dabble with all my other palettes (and trust me I have a lot of them) every now and again, but the original Naked seems to be the one I use most often. I find it the most wearable and the most versatile palette I own and nothing so far seems to beat it.

A product which has popped up in a couple of posts already is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +. If you have read my review of the Clinique Three Step Skincare range (which you can find here), you will know that this was the only product from the range that I actually liked. And I loved it so much that it is now an everyday part of my skincare routine. It's nice and light, but still hydrating enough for my dry skin.

Throughout 2013 I managed to build up quite a large collection of Revlon Lip Butters. The one I have been reaching for most recently has been the shade Sugar Plum, which is a lovely deep purple colour, perfect for autumn & winter. It goes on quite sheer at first, which is nice if you wanted to wear it whilst in the office because it gives you just a hint of colour, but it is easily buildable if you wanted more of an intense colour on your lips. I also love the formula of these lip butters. I suffer from dry lips, so I like to wear these if I know I'm going to be outside a lot during the day, because they leave my lips so moisturised.

Finally, for my first ever monthly favourites post, I have chosen the Dove Nourishing Oil Care range. I don't change up my haircare products very often, but decided to give this shampoo & conditioner a go when I saw it on offer at the start of the month. My hair has been so silky and smooth since I started using this, and a lot easier to manage. You can see my full review on the shampoo & conditioner here. I was so impressed with them that I've also recently picked up the Express Treatment Conditioner from the same range, which I can't wait to give a go.

Have you tried any of the products I have mentioned? What have been your January beauty favourites?

  1. Lovely post:-)
I had the same problem with the Soap & Glory scrub, I borrowed my sister's and she wasn't happy when I gave her it back full of water hehe!
The Clinique moisturiser sounds good though, I might have to buy it!

    1. Thank you! It's a fab moisturiser. I like that they do the lotion for dry skin and gel version for oily skin so it's suitable for everyone xx
