Sleek Pink Lemonade Blush Palette Review

Being the silly fool I am, I threw away the outer packaging to this before I got round to taking my blog pictures - I guess I was just too excited to get my mitts into it! However, if you did want to know what it looked like when looking for it in the shops, there's a picture of it in a mini haul on my Instagram page. This little palette had been on my radar since people first started blogging about it, but I rarely get the chance to go to Superdrug (and when I did it was out of stock!), so it just sat on my wishlist for weeks and weeks. Our local Tesco has recently had a big makeover, including their beauty department, and I was excited to see on a recent trip that they now stock Sleek - perfect! Without a moments hesitation, I quickly grabbed this palette and headed for the tills.

The palette contains three pink blushes, two powder and one cream, and comes in the same layout as their face form palette which I love, and has a handy mirror in the lid. Palettes like these are great for when you go away for a few days, as you've got three different shades at your disposal to choose from, all in one handy slim compact.

l-r: Icing Sugar, Macaroon, Pink Mint
The first shade in the trio, Icing Sugar, is a light, shimmery pink shade, perfect for a light flush of colour. When first swatching this, I did notice there was a hint of glitter which came off, which I was a little disappointed about, but after a few uses it no longer visible on application and just left a nice shimmer on your cheeks.

The second shade, Macaroon, was the biggest surprise to me. I'm not normally a fan of cream blushes, so I thought I wouldn't get much use out of this one at all, but I love it. The mid-pink colour glides on and blends in so nicely to leave you with a subtle flush to your cheeks - it's a shade I think would flatter a wide variety of skin tones. The colour stays put for hours without sliding down your face, which is always a worry for me with cream blushes.

The final shade is called Pink Mint, which is a shade not too dissimilar to Rose Gold, but with more of a coppery finish. I was a little disappointed to have two shades so similar to each other in the two palettes I have. Pink Mint has less of a shimmer to it though, so this would be more suitable if you wanted to tone your look down a bit, but still love the colour of Rose Gold.

Overall I was really impressed with this palette and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of Macaroon, which is not what I expected when I purchased the palette! Sleek blushes are such good quality and these little trio palettes are such good value for money - at £9.99, it works out at just over £3 per blush! The contrast in shades in this palette, from light to dark, also make it a perfect one for travel, as you can get many different looks for different days & occasions. The only thing that does worry me with this palette is how the cream blush will fare over time, being sandwiched between two powder blushes. So far no powder fallout has made its way into the cream blusher, but I wonder how long it will stay like this as I continue to use it - it's such a lovely colour and I'd hate for it to get messy and ruined.

Do you have this palette? Have you tried Sleek blushes before?

  3. I really fancy getting hold of this, as I really think Sleek are a great brand, at such good prices as well. This one looks gorgeous, and I keep seeing the one called Lace on blogs and liking the look of it too. They just never have the blush palettes in stock at the little Superdrug nearest to me. xx
