March Beauty Favourites

March has marked the start of Spring, so I've been switching a lot of things up in my makeup bag. As a result, most of my favourites this month have turned out to be makeup items, but I've thrown in a recent skincare discovery in there for good measure too.

Back in February I purchased a much longed for palette - the Sleek Pink Lemonade Blush Palette. I love this little palette and I'm so glad I finally got round to picking it up, just in time for spring, which I think these shades are perfect for. When I post my review at the end of February, I was besotted with the cream shade in the middle, Macaroon. However this month I've been getting most use out of the lighter powder shade, Icing Sugar. It's perfect for when you want just a slight hint of colour. My makeup has been very minimal most of this month, so this has been my go to cheek colour to a subtle flush with a hint of shimmer.

When I switched up my everyday makeup bag for more of a spring look, the first lipstick to go in was MAC's Coral Bliss. Coral is such a lovely colour to wear in spring & summer, and this lipstick is a lot paler than a lot of other coral lipsticks, making it much more wearable everyday, and more spring appropriate than the summer brights. I can see this one getting a lot more use this month too, I'm absolutely loving it!

At the start of the month, I went on my first trip to Lush for a very long time and picked up a few skincare bits. I love the smell when you walk into Lush, and it's a shame we don't have a bathtub in our house, or I'd be stocking up on bath bombs & bubble bars too! My favourite product from my mini haul was the Ultrabland cleanser. I'd heard some mixed reviews on this product but went with the recommendations of some of you on Twitter and decided to pick it up. I was quite sensitive skin, so I love that this has very few ingredients and fragrance in it and is basically, as it says, bland. It's so gentle on my sensitive skin, yet gets the job done of removing my makeup and leaving my skin feeling clean afterwards. I only picked up the small tub, in case I didn't like it, but I will definitely be purchasing a bigger tub soon.

I've been so busy this month, so I've tended to do my makeup in a bit of a hurry in the mornings. Because of this, I've been reaching of super quick & convenient products to create a fuss-free look. Enter the Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes. I picked up a few of these last year when they were being raved about by a number of beauty bloggers, but they just got shoved to the bottom of my "eye products" storage box and were pretty much forgotten about. However, as I've been in so much of a rush recently, I've dug a couple of them out and I've been using them day in, day out this month. My most reached for shade is Bountiful Beige, as it's perfect for a minimal everyday look. I think it's very similar to Stila's Kitten eyeshadow, but with less shimmer. I love these little sticks, you can just swipe on the colour and go - perfect!

I mentioned the Revlon Matte Balms in last months favourites. In fact, I've mentioned them a lot, to anyone that will listen! I've not got many matte lipsticks in my collection - my lips are so dry that they just can't handle the formulas of them, and look ridiculous on me! But that's not the case with these matte balms, as they are moisturising whilst still producing the same matte finish - they're brilliant. I have a different shade offering for you this month though - this one is Striking, a bright orangey-red colour, which has been my go to colour for nights out this month. I'll try not to have one in my April favourites, you're probably sick of them by now, but they are just so good!

Have you tried any of the products in my March favourites? What have you been loving this month?

  1. The Sleek Pink Lemonade palette looks gorgeous, I'd wear all of those shades! I also like that it's a mixture of powder and cream blushes in one palette.. Next time in Boots I'm definitely going to check this out!
