London Butterflies Bath Salt Scrub

When I saw this sample pot in last month's Birchbox, I was so excited to try it out. The box that it came in was such a pretty powder blue, and I loved the silver butterflies. Plus it was weighty - a sign of a real luxury product! I have to say though, since trying it I'm left with mixed feelings.

First off the jar is so sleek and simple, it would look really pretty sat in your bathroom. Open it up and the scent inside is gorgeous. The scrub contains dead sea salt and sweet almond oil, and you can really smell the sweetness in it.

In terms of abrasiveness, it doesn't have in as many scrub particles as I would like, so you can't get a really thorough exfoliation from it, but it did leave my skin feeling really soft afterwards. This may be one for those with more sensitive skin, who have found other scrubs too harsh. It washes off really easily without leaving any horrible residue and leaves you smelling lovely and fresh for hours after.

Having looked at the London Butterflies website and seeing that a 225g jar costs a whopping £35, I know I definitely won't be repurchasing this - I don't think I've ever spent that much on a body scrub before! I know it's meant to be a luxury product, and it did feel lovely, but it just wasn't "scrubby" enough for me to justify that price. I am however tempted by some of their Body Souffles!

Have you tried any London Butterflies products? What's your favourite body scrub?

  1. What a great honest review! I wouldn't spend that much on a scrub that wasn't as abrasive as I like. It's just not worth it to me either :)
