#AMonthOfMAC - Diva

Diva was one of the more daring MAC purchases I've made, and one I ummed & ahhed about for a really long time before biting the bullet and just going for it. It had always looked liked such a beautiful colour on other people, but that didn't stop it from scaring me, and wondering if it would suit me at all.

I'm really glad I eventually made the purchase though, as I can see this being one of my favourite lip colours this winter. I always thought Diva was more of a deep red shade, but was pleasantly surprised to see it had slight plum tones to it too, which gives it that real autumn/winter vibe. The name is very apt, as I can see this being a lipstick you'd wear for a glam night out where you've really dressed up.

It's a matte formula but not uncomfortable to wear at all. It does mean that the wear time is very good, and the lipstick leaves a slight plum stain to your lips once it's faded. I do find that you have to be careful and ensure you lips are fully exfoliated before applying, otherwise the lipstick will settle in any dry patches it can find, and make the colour look a bit uneven. It's also one the definitely requires a lip liner before application. I didn't use one for the swatch below and, as you can see, it's not the best!
