Shopping My Stash For Winter
I'll be honest, I've been wearing the same old makeup on rotation for a good few months now. I've not been particularly experimental at all, so a lot of my products have just been tucked away in the drawers and completely forgotten about. Since we are now well into December, I thought it was about time I had a rummage through my makeup stash and dug out some recently unloved products and get some good use out of them. Afterall, I did say all that time ago when I bought my Muji storage, that switching my everyday products up would become a regular thing - guess I failed at that one!
Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel Palette This was my pre-Christmas treat to myself last year and, whilst I fell head over heels for it at the time, it got put away in my post-Christmas tidy up and never resurfaced again until now! The shades in this palette are absolutely stunning and perfect for this time of year (you can see swatches here). As you can see from the amount of embossed stars that are still in tact, I really haven't used this much at all, so it's my mission to get more wear out of these shadows this December!
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study This was a product that I bought on a whim and then really wasn't too impressed with when I got it home, but having had a little play around with it I can see that it does make the most beautiful base colour, especially if I was to use it with the Charlotte Tilbury palette, so I've brought this out to see if I can fall in love with it. I also think it would make a nice stand alone colour for a really simple daytime look.
Revlon Colour Stay Foundation This is one of my favourite winter foundations, which I put away during the summer as I prefer a really lightweight base for those months, so of course it had to come out again now! This gives a medium coverage, which is perfect for me as I don't like anything too heavy, and leaves an almost matte finish to my skin. It's also really long lasting, which is great as I seem to be super busy at the moment!
MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Stereo Rose You know when you buy those limited edition products and you're scared to use them as you don't want to run out?! Well that's how I feel with Stereo Rose. It's just so pretty, I'm torn between using it and saving it for special occasions! I've decided this December I am going to use it - what's the point in leaving it sat in a drawer when I love it so much?
L'Oreal Julianne's Nude Lipstick I've got plenty of festive red and berry lipsticks in my stash at the moment (lipstick was the one item of my collection that I did get round to switching up!) but sometimes I don't want to go out with a bold lip, so I needed to find a nude to add in there too for those days. I used to rave on and on about this lipstick when it first came out, it was the perfect nude for my lips, but this year I'd bought so many others that I'd kind of forgotten about it a little, so I thought it was time to put it back in my everyday stash so I can get more use out of it again.
Have you tried any of these products? What's currently in your everyday makeup stash?
