February Beauty Favourites

A lot of "newbie" products have made their way into my favourites this month. You may have seen that I went on a rather big shopping spree after January's payday and picked up a generous amount of beauty products. And I appear to have chosen wisely, as so many of them have been getting a lot of love over the last few weeks.

One product I have been using to death is my Stila In The Light Palette. I thought nothing could come close to my Naked Palette and, although I think it's still too early to make such a bold statement, it's definitely becoming a close call. My go to shade has been bubbly, a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour (you can see swatches on my review post here) and, when I want more of a smokey eye, I've loved using Sandstone, a dark matte brown, in my crease.

I had been looking for a new mascara to try for a few weeks, and purchased Max Factor False Lash Effect after a few recommendations on Twitter. When I came to try it, I took one look at the wand and thought "this isn't going to be for me". The bristles are tiny, and my experience of similar mascaras had not been great, but this one was totally different for me. My lashes were a lot fuller but still had a very natural look to them, which I love. The brush doesn't hold too much product either, so you don't get the panda look when mascara ends up under your eyes after applying.

Now I know Christmas was over two months ago, so I should probably be over it by now, but I've been loving The Body Shops Christmas range during February! I didn't actually buy these until the post-Christmas sales, so I thought I'd better start to use them up before we head into Spring. My pick of the bunch was the Ginger Sparkle Body Butter, which as you can probably tell from the name, smells of gingerbread! I was forever burning the Christmas Memories Yankee Candle in the run up to the festive season, and this body butter very much reminds me of its scent. And of course (possibly with the exception of Soap & Glory), The Body Shop have some of the nicest body butters available on the high street. The only problem is that since I purchased it in a gift set, I only have the mini size and it's almost run out now - sob.

I well and truly fell for the hype of the Revlon Matte Balms this month (you can see a review of some of my purchases here). I bought them along with some of the new lacquer balms and, having such problems with dry lips, thought that the lacquer balms would be my favourites. However, it's the matte balms I have been reaching for time and time again, in particular Elusive, which is a very wearable soft pink shade. The formula is much more moisturising than that of a typical matte lipstick, whilst still giving the same finish, so I can wear these for hours without having to worry about my lips flaking and drying out.

My final favourite for February has been my favourite skincare product of the month - The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum in Oil. This has worked miracles for my skin over the last few weeks. It looks so much more radiant and feels softer & smoother than when I don't use the serum - you can really notice the difference when I don't use it! I mentioned in my review (here) that I couldn't find a fault with this product. I do however now have a little gripe with the packaging. Since it's not in a clear packaging, I fear it might be difficult to tell when I am about to run out. Other than that, this product is fab and so affordable.

Have you tried any of the products I have mentioned? What have been your February beauty favourites?
