Loreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution Review

I'm a little late on the bandwagon with this one. Micellar waters have been a hot topic in the beauty community for months now. The favourite and most raved about by far being Bioderma. But, with that being a little harder to get hold of here in the UK, a lot of people have suggested the Loreal version as a great, also cheaper alternative. I decided to give this a go and, I have to say, I'm not sure I totally get the hype.
This 3 in 1 solution claims to act as a makeup remover, toner and skin soother all in one, removing all traces of makeup and drawing out impurities whilst remaining gentle to your skin. I have to agree that it is very gentle on my skin which, having very sensitive skin, can be difficult for me to find in a makeup remover. It does a good job at removing the makeup from my face and preps my skin nicely for my second evening cleanse. It doesn't dry out my skin either, which is another problem I find I have with makeup removal products.

I do, however have a few problems with this product which stop me from loving it. The first one being that I find it so difficult to remove my eye makeup with it. Even when I'm not wearing waterproof mascara, it seems that no matter how long I hold the cotton wool pad over my lashes before I wipe away, it just won't budge the stuff and I find myself rubbing away at my eyes which can sometimes leave them quite sore. I've found that I have to use another product specifically for my eye makeup, adding another step to my routine.

The second problem is the amount of product I have gotten through in such a short space of time. To get the product onto your cotton pad, you have to tip the bottle up and I've found that, unless you are very careful, you can end up with spillages and getting a lot more product than you actually need coming out at a time. The hole in the top of the bottle being quite large doesn't help this and I feel that, if the packaging was changed slightly, the bottle would last a lot longer.

Overall, I'm not very impressed with this product. I love the idea of micellar waters and how gentle they are for my sensitive skin, but this one doesn't do everything I would expect it to. Unfortunately, I have not tried any other micellar waters, so currently have nothing to compare it to, but having heard good things about Garnier's offering, I am keen to give this a go, especially as I have seen that it retails for the same price as the Loreal bottle (£4.99) for double the amount of product!

Have you tried the Loreal micellar solution, or any other micellar waters? What is your opinion on them?

  1. I really enjoyed using this product! It's interesting to hear other opinions though! I'm using the 'B pure' one at the moment and it's horrible! So I wouldn't recommend it! xx

  2. It's a shame you didn't get on with this one, I personally love it. I've heard the Garnier one is amazing though and some people have said they preferred it to this one... it's next on my to try list :) xx

  4. I'm super interested in this, but whereas I can get Bioderma where I live, I haven't seen this one anywhere around. You need an awful lot of the Bioderma as well but I think it removes make up brilliantly, even most of the waterproof mascaras. So if you can get your mitts on it, you should definitely pick it up!

    1. I've heard really good things about Bioderma but it's a little more expensive than others out there so I'll be holding off trying it for a while. It is on my list though! xx
