Top 5 Under £5 - Makeup

Everyone loves a good bargain don't they? Whilst making your latest high end purchase can be very exciting (especially for those of us that don't get to do it very often!), I also love browsing the high street in search of cheaper products that can do just as good a job. That way I know that, if I love it, I'll definitely be able to afford to repurchase it! These five little gems cost less than a mere fiver each and I've found them to be just as good, if not better, than products of a higher price point.

1. Seventeen Stay Pout Lipsticks £4.49 These are a pretty recent addition to my makeup collection and I've recently posted a full review of them, which you can read here. The staying power of them is very good for a budget lipstick and, whilst they give an almost matte finish, they are nowhere near as drying as most matte lipsticks I have tried. Some of the lighter shades I have swatched are more on the frostier side, which is a look I'm not really a fan of, but their bolder shades are fantastic. I have a couple of them but my favourite has to be Date Night, which is a bold red.

2. Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks Powder Blush £1.99 These are a complete bargain! I don't own a great deal of Natural Collection makeup but their blushes are one of my favourites from the drugstore. They are nice and pigmented, but not so much so that those who are a little more heavy handed are going to end up looking like clowns! They wear time is pretty decent too. I just wish that they had more of a shade range to choose from!

3. MUA Eyeshadow Palettes £4.00 I have almost as many of these as I do of my beloved Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes and whilst nothing will ever quite compare to UD, these palettes are still very good quality for the price you are paying. If you can't afford or justify forking out nearly £40 on one of the Naked palettes, MUA's dupes of the Naked 1 & 2 are excellent. The shadows on the whole are buttery smooth and very pigmented, though you do get the odd dud shade now and again. I'm really hoping they'll be a Naked 3 dupe soon!

4. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer £4.19 I've featured this a few times on my blog looking a state with all the wording rubbed off, but now I have a brand new one! There's not a great deal I need to say about this one really, it's become a bloggers favourite. Whilst this would be too heavy for me to ever think about using under my eyes, this is a great long lasting concealer for any blemishes I may have and I haven't used a alternative product in a very long time - it's a makeup bag staple for me!

5. Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner £3.99 I have a lot of these, as well as the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On eye pencils, which these have been compared to and I have to say Rimmel's version works just as well and for £10 less! They glide on really nicely and last for hours. They don't have the extensive shade range that UD has but I don't tend to go for some of the wackier bright shades when it comes to eyeliner, I like to keep it nice and neutral. I haven't featured it in the image above (I appear to have misplaced it - oops!) but I love using the Nude shade in my waterline to really open up my eyes.

Do you have any of these products? What are your favourite budget makeup items?

    1. It will be interesting to see if there's a difference in quality between MUA & Makeup Revolution. I've ordered the British Beauty Blogger Latest in Beauty box and it comes with a Makeup Revolution palette so I can't wait to try it when it arrives :) xx
