Makeup Revolution Haul

Well this has been a long time coming! I've been wanting to place a Makeup Revolution order ever since the brand was launched, but whenever I went on the Superdrug website half of the things I wanted were out of stock, and I thought it was best to wait and get everything in one go. For any that don't know, Makeup Revolution is a budget makeup brand, very similar to MUA, and they have hundreds of products to choose from. The prices really are impressive - I bought this little lot of a mere £22.50! Over the next few weeks I'll be testing these products out to see if they really are good value for money, so look out for a few reviews coming your way.

One of the products that was forever out of stock was the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights. There were other shade options available, but this looked like the one that would give me more of a natural looking glow, so I held out for it! The photo is really not doing this one justice. It looks so pretty in the pan. It is the slightest bit glittery, so I'll have to see how this translates on the skin.
I also picked up a couple of blushes. The first is from the standard £1 blush range, in the shade Hot! which, as the name would suggest, is a very bright hot pink. From swatching it, it's also very pigmented, so I think I'm going to have to be careful with this one!
The other blush I picked up is the very charmingly named Bang Bang You're Dead from the Vivid Baked Blush range. This also looks quite bright in the pan but looks much paler on the skin. It's also got a hint of shimmer to it, which I think will be nice for a summer glow.
I couldn't not give The One Foundation a go. Aside from the eyeshadow palettes, this has probably been one of their most talked about products. I opted for shade 4, which looks like a good colour match for my current skintone, so I may have to buy another one a couple of shades lighter if I like it. I wasn't expecting the bottle to be quite so small though, so I'm not sure how long this is going to last. It might only be £4, but I'm not sure this is going to work out any more affordable than other drugstore foundations, which come in much bigger bottles.

I ummed and ahhed over whether to pick up the much raved about Iconic palettes but, as I have all of the UD Naked palettes, and good dupes of 1 & 2 by MUA, I didn't really need another one to add to my collection. Instead I went for the Romantic Smoked Palette, which has a lot of purple & green shades - something that's lacking a little bit in my eyeshadow collection. I was surprised at how big the palette is, you really do get a lot of eyeshadow for your money.
I don't really know why I picked up any single eyeshadows. I don't tend to use them very often, but I guess the £1 price tag sucked me in! Cappuccino was the first shade that caught my eye. It's a shimmery mid-brown colour - very typical of my everyday eye look. Of course, I couldn't by just one, so I also chose I Remember. I'm not too sure what I think of this one. It's quite a boring colour but I guess it would make quite a good base shade.

I originally ordered four of their Amazing Lipsticks, but received an email from Superdrug a couple of days later to say that one of them was out of stock - boohoo! The shades I did get are (l-r) The One, Dusky and Luscious. The One looks much nicer swatched than it does in the bullet - it's a light nude shade - and on first impressions it's my favourite of the three, though I think Luscious will get a lot of use during the summer. Although they've only been applied to my hand so far, they feel really soft & creamy, so I think they're going to apply really smoothly to the lips.
The final product I picked up was a Salvation Velvet Lacquer in I Fall In Love. This is very bright! It's quite similar, when swatched, to MAC's Kelly Yum Yum lipstick, which I also picked up recently, but more blue-toned. Cream to matte finish lip products have been everywhere recently, so I'll be interested to see how this one lasts compared to other brands I've tried.

Have you bought any Makeup Revolution products? Which are your favourites?
