My Favourite Summer Bright Nail Polishes

Summer seems to finally be here, hurrah! The weather since I got back to the UK has been beautiful, so I thought it was time to dig out my favourite summer polishes and put them to good use. Here are my top five bright polishes from my collection.

l-r: Watermelon, Papaya, Electric!, Green Berry, Fancy a Dip?

1. Essie Nail Polish in Watermelon. One thing I really love about this nail polish is that I can get an opaque finish with just one coat, so this is a great one to use when I don't have much time to spend on my nails. I have quite a few hot pinks in my collection, but Watermelon has to be my favourite, and gives the best finish.

2. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Papaya. This polish is a relatively new addition to my collection, but I think this is going to be a firm favourite this summer. It's a lovely vibrant orange, but not too much of an in your face colour as some oranges can be. This one would look great with a tan.

3. Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish in Electric! I mentioned in my spring polish favourites that that I wasn't the biggest fan of this formula, yet two more shades have made their way into my favourites this time! This particular polish isn't too bad, actually. It applies much more evenly than the other shades I have from this range and is opaque after two coats. I've had this polish for quite a while and can't find it on the Boots website, so I might be discontinued now, boo!

4. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Green Berry. Another addition from my favourite nail polish range, I really can't get enough of Barry M nail polishes! The finish this polish gives on my nails is like a brighter version of Essie's Mint Candy Apple, which I love. This one again is a good one for if you're in a hurry, as it's opaque very quickly and is fast drying.

5. Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish in Fancy A Dip? I think this one could be a transitional colour from spring into summer, as it's slightly more of a pastel shade than the others. It's quite similar to Barry M's Blueberry, which was in my spring favourites, but it has more of a summer pop to it. This one did take a little longer to get an opaque finish - you're looking at around three coats to get a good finish.

Do you have any of these nail polishes? What are your favourite summer bright shades?
