My Spring Lip Picks

Over the last month I've been switching up my makeup for spring/summer and swapping my plum & red lipsticks for pinks & corals. Spring shades are probably my favourites when it comes to lippies, and I've noticed that my collection is pretty vast, but I've narrowed it down to my five favourites, which I'm going to share with you today.

l-r: Loreal Color Riche Collection Privee in Julianne's Nude, Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive, MAC Cremesheen lipstick in Coral Bliss, Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Melodieuse, Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet
My perfect spring nude lipstick for pale skin has to be Loreal's Color Riche lipstick in Julianne's Nude. Loreal have released an entire collection of nude lipsticks based on various celebrities skintones and Julianne's nude is the best suited to those with very pale skin like me. It's a very soft peachy-pink shade which looks like "your lips but better". This is my go-to lip colour for minimal makeup days.

When I'm looking for something with a bit more colour but still want a very wearable everyday look, I reach for the Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive. I've had a bit of an obsession with the Revlon matte balms since their release, and now have 8 of the 10 shades in my collection. Elusive, the pale pink of the bunch, was one of my first purchases from the range, and is still one of my favourites. It's the perfect everyday shade.

MAC's Coral Bliss lipstick is probably my all time favourite spring shade, it's simply beautiful. Unlike most coral lipsticks, which can often be quite bright, it is much softer and subtle, so you can get away with wearing it for an everyday office look. The cremesheen formula, my favourite from the MAC lipstick range, also means that it is super soft and nourishing on the lips.

For something a little more vibrant but still on the coral theme, I'd opt for my Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Melodieuse (136). This is a very recent addition to my lipstick collection but I can tell already that this is going to get a lot of use from me this spring/summer. This lipstick would be well suited for a night out when I'm looking for a more intense colour to my lips. It does start off very sheer though, so could also be used for adding a bit of extra colour to a daytime look.

My spring lip picks wouldn't be complete without including one of my favourite Revlon Lip Butters. I've raved about these lip products a lot, and you can see my full collection here. I've got a fair few lip butters that I would consider to be appropriate for spring, but my current favourite is Sorbet, a very bright, vibrant pink shade. Again this is a very buildable lip colour, so it's good for both day and night looks, and one that I will be carrying through to the summer months too. With a few layers application, this shade can make your lips pop whilst keeping them hydrated.

Have you tried M.A.C Candy Yum Yum or Impassioned? Both so pretty for a spring night out.

    1. Candy Yum Yum scares me a little - it's such a pretty colour but it's so bright! Impassioned does look really nice - more my kind of colour I think x
