Birchbox - November 2014

This month's Birchbox theme is "Cosy at Home", to get us all set for those cold winter evenings where we'd rather snuggle up under the duvet than venture outside, They've kept to the theme very well, on the whole, this month with some great little pampering products, And what's really great is there were two full size products in my box this time. I may be wrong, but I don't think that's happened before. If it has, they certainly weren't this good...

OPI Coca-Cola Red Nail Polish Part of OPI's limited edition Coca-Cola collection, this iconic, classic, red is perfect for every occasion. £11.95
I really love wearing red nail polishes around Christmas time, so I'll enjoy having a manicure with this polish sometime soon. I really like the formula of OPI nail polishes and have received them in boxes before, but they've always been a super tiny sample size, which looks like it's going to last you about two wears, so I was really happy to see that this was one of my full size products!

Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask Rejuvenate and protect your hair with this luxurious mask packed with argan oil, honey, amber and crushed pearls. £16.00
Beauty Protector is another brand I've already tried with Birchbox, and I really liked their shampoo & conditioner. This mask smells lovely, so it's going to be a nice treat when I apply it, and I'm hoping I will be just as impressed with it as I was with their other products. It's nice that you get two sample pots, as I think with my long hair they would only last one application each!

Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Oil A blend of organic almond and plum kernel oils that protect skin while keeping it soft and supple - perfect for the cold weather. £14.95
My skin suffers really badly in the winter, so I'll be interested to see if this does anything to help. It has a little bit of a weird smell, but nothing too offensive, so I wouldn't have any problems applying this too my skin, especially as I'll be wearing it at night anyway. For a facial oil, 10ml is a pretty good sample size, so I think I'll get plenty of testing time out of this one.

Lord & Berry Mini Bronzer, Sunny Super fine, matte, bronzing pigments create a healthy glow for a burst of radiance without the tell-tale shimmer. £19.00
I was pretty disappointed with this product, and I'm not sure what it has to do with the box's theme. When you open up the box, the product is in a small pan, like the MAC eyeshadows you buy for your palette. Ok, it's a sample product, so I wasn't expecting a great big compact, but I would've expected the product to come in some sort of packaging that you could pop in your makeup bag. I wasn't all that impressed with the product itself either, I definitely have better bronzers in my collection that retail for less than this one. Very much a thumbs down from me.

Dr Jart+ V7 Relief Vita Drop Hydration in a tube! This vitamin packed lotion brightens and moisturises whilst restoring elasticity through its blend of antioxidants. £26.00
This was the second of my full size products (as you can probably tell!) and I was so excited when I saw I had received this. I'm a big fan of the Dr Jart BB Creams, but I am yet to try any more of their products. This sounds like just the thing my skin need this winter, so I can't wait to start trying this out. As it's a full size, so I can give this a thorough testing, I think I'll put up a review of this product next month.

Drinkwel Vegetarian Capsules Not your typical multivitamin, these veggie-friendly capsules are loaded with all the good stuff needed to help recover after a night out on the tiles. £39.99
Wow these are expensive, how many do you get in a full pack?! I've seen that some people got chocolate in their boxes this month, which has made me a little jealous, but as I'm trying to lose weight it's probably a good thing that I got these instead! I can't remember the last time I had "a night on the tiles" but I have been feeling pretty groggy recently, so these may help to perk me up. I'll try them, but I can't see me purchasing any more!

I think Birchbox have done very well this month and I've really got my monies worth - the Dr Jart product is £26, so that's paid for the box twice over on it's own! Aside from the bronzer, I'm really excited by all of the beauty products and can't wait to have a pamper evening to try them all out. With next month being December, I'm expecting a Christmas theme, which I'm really excited about. Although, with the high expectations this month's box has set, I'm worried I may be a little disappointed, Fingers crossed I'm not!

Did you receive this month's Birchbox? Were you as happy as me with your contents?

    1. I was subscribed to Glossybox almost two years ago and I stopped as I was getting pretty disappointed. It's hard to know if you're going to end up with something you'll use with these boxes though xx
