Time For Some Changes

Image from weheartit.com

I've been a little bit naughty recently - my main crimes being overspending and under-exercising, so I'm going to be making a few little changes over the next couple of months and hope that I'll be able to benefit from them in many ways. They say Spring is a time for change (spring cleaning and all that!), so I thought now would be the perfect time to start.

First off I need to cut back on my spending. I contemplated a complete spending ban, but the thought was just too heartbreaking, so I'm sticking with a major spending cut. I will be setting myself spending limits for various things, for example £30 to spend when I take a trip into town this weekend, and of course I have to budget for my giveaway prize! I'm also going to try something new for when I next want to go clothes shopping. If you read my Life in February post, you'll know that I made a recent purchase from my work's pop up charity shop - I managed to bag myself a lovely grey blazer for just £2! It got me thinking that maybe I shouldn't overlook charity shops as much as I do, as there's some great bargains to be had. I've decided to set myself a challenge - for my next clothes shop I'm setting myself a budget of £20 and everything must come from a charity shop. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can lay my hands on - look out for a haul post coming in the next few weeks!

As well as cutting back on what I buy, I'm also going to have a clear out of what I already have. With our wedding coming up in a couple of months, the balances from various suppliers now need to start being paid, so some extra cash would come in very handy right now. I have so many clothes that are too big for me now, or I just don't ever wear. I already have a couple of bags full to go to the charity shop, and I think another rummage through my wardrobe could produce another bag full! As well as donating to charity, I'll be listing a few items on eBay over the next couple of weeks, in the hope that they will make us a little bit of cash to put towards the wedding fund. If you'd be interested in taking a look, make sure you are following me on Twitter (@kizzyhearts), as I'll be posting links to my sale items on there. As well as the financially benefit, I'll also benefit from having less clutter around the house. At the moment I have less storage than things to store, so as you can imagine I've got t-shirts hanging out of drawers everywhere! This clear out will be kind of therapeutic for me - as they say, tidy house, tidy mind!

The final change I want to make is to my fitness. As you may know, I've lost a lot of weight recently through healthy eating and exercise. However, since reaching my target weight, I've slacked more and more on the exercise and have been relying on my healthy diet to maintain my weight - lets face it, the rubbish weather really hasn't helped, but I shouldn't be using that as an excuse. Although I have done a good job at staying within my target range, I have noticed that I'm a lot less toned than I used to be, and with a beach holiday to sunny Cyprus looming, I want to get back to my best. So my plan is to get those trainers back on and get back to doing some form of regular exercise. I'm not a fan of running in the rain, so what I do is very much weather dependent, but I have plenty of exercise dvds as a back up plan if spring does take a while to show its face in England. I will of course be updating on my progress at some point, for those of you that are interesting in those kinds of posts.

Do you have any changes planned for spring?

    1. Thank you sweetie :) I hope I can find some good stuff. I hardly ever use charity shops despite working for a charity that has plenty of shops in my area! xx
