Recent High End Beauty Purchases

These purchases aren't so recent any more, I made them about three weeks ago on our anniversary trip, but I still wanted to include them as a haul post as I'm so in love with everything that I picked up. Everything here was paid for by my lovely husband as my anniversary gift, which I am so grateful for, I'm definitely a lucky lady!

The first thing I picked up from the MAC store at Birmingham Grand Central was Velvet Teddy lipstick. I'd resisted this lipstick for the longest time, through the whole Kylie Jenner hype, and kept telling myself I didn't need it. But every time I went into MAC I'd pick it up and swatch it, then look on the bottom "oh it's Velvet Teddy again." It was quite obviously a colour I'd love if I was picking it up every single time, so I gave in to my lust for it and picked it up. One worry for me was that it was going to look at bit too dark on me, but I really love the way it looks. A new favourite possibly.

I didn't pick up the second MAC lipstick, Viva Glam II, until the next day when we were wandering around The Bullring before checking out of our hotel. This one is a satin finish, which is swiftly becoming my favourite finish of MAC lipstick, and is again on slightly more of the darker side than my usual nude lipstick choice - even darker than Velvet Teddy, what is going on here?! This is another colour I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of - I definitely made some good choices on this trip!

After swanning out of the MAC store with Velvet Teddy, I popped next door to Jo Malone. I hadn't intended on picking anything up from there, just want in for a little browse, but after spritzing the Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne I really didn't want to leave the store without a bottle of my own. It's a quite a citrus yet woody scent, which smells very crisp and fresh. It's one of the more subtle Jo Malone scents I own, which makes it great for everyday wear. I've worn this almost every day since buying it.

I feel like I've gone with the really blogger hyped products in this haul, non more so than the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop. I can see why everyone has been raving about this product so much though, it's insanely beautiful. My god is it shimmery though, so if that's not your thing you may want to steer clear of this. One tiny swipe of this and you're left with beautifully radiant cheekbones, I absolutely love it. I am a little gutted though, as only a day or two after buying this I saw the British Beauty Blogger's post on the Champagne Collection Palette. It's my birthday soon, so I may have to pick this up too (if I can get hold of it!).

The final blogger influenced purchase was the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk (whenever I say "pillow talk" I always hear Zayn's song in my head!). To be honest though, I don't need any persuading when it comes to Charlotte Tilbury purchases, I've got a list as long as my arm of products I want to try. It was Amelia Liana that really pushed me into buying this. She always wears the most amazing lip colours and swears by this lip pencil all the time. It's a beautiful dusky nude pink, that I think will go so well with a lot of lipsticks in my collection.
