My Dream Office Space

My desk space has been exactly the same since my husband & I moved in together almost six years ago. The only thing that's changed is the desks location after we moved house last year. I've been thinking for quite a while that it's time for a bit of a refresh, so I've been researching new decor ideas to made it look a bit more clean and crisp, and just generally more aesthetically pleasing! As I'll be going on maternity leave in a few weeks, who knows if this dream will become a reality any time soon, but I've picked a few more budget friendly options just in case!

As you can see, I've gone for a white, grey & rose gold theme. Grey and rose gold are two of my favourite colours, and compliment each other nicely when it comes to room decor. I wanted the furniture to be affordable, as well as simple to build, so of course the desk and chair are both from Ikea! The space we have for a desk is quite limited, so this compact Micke desk will fit in nicely.

Also from Ikea is the lovely lamp. At £40, it's a little pricey, but compared to many others I've seen, it's actually a bit of a steal, and it fits the spec for what I wanted perfectly.

As the desk space is relatively small, I'm limited as to how much I can actually put on there after the monitor has taken its place, but I've picked a few small accessories to fill the space nicely without cluttering the desk up. I actually have the rose gold candle holder already, so at least that's one item down! It was an absolute steal at £3 from Primark, and makes a great prop for blog photos. Sticking with the rose gold theme, I've found this lovely photo frame from Paperchase. I'm considering printing a nice quote to put in there rather than a photo, something to motivate me whilst writing posts etc. I couldn't redo my desk without having a plant on there, though I'm not sure how well I'd do at keeping a live one going! I've chosen this lotus plant from New Look, as I loved the shape, and the pot it comes in.

I wanted something to put up on the wall above my desk, as at the moment it's looking a little bare. Whilst wall art would look really pretty, I thought the Primark grid photograph holder would come in really useful, and utilises the space I have really well. I could use it to put some nice photos up, or some handy reminders and to do lists.

I'm really into personalised things at the moment, so I'd have to get something with a K on for my desk! The personalised coaster from Oliver Bonas is a bit pricey for what it is, but so pretty. Another really gorgeous personalised item that I found was this graphic alphabet cushion from Next. It's so different to the bog standard alphabet cushions you see on the high street, and I love the print on the K cushion.

Are you lucky enough to have your dream office space already? If not, how would you decorate it?
