Lustering is one of those forgotten lipsticks in my collection - I'll be honest I had no idea it was there until I dug all of my MAC lipsticks out for this series! It's one of those colours that looks gorgeous in the bullet, which is probably why I bought it, but is a little bit of the "nothing" shade on the lips.
If you really like your subtle flushes of colour on your lips, then this one might be ideal for you. Whilst it does appear to be a really bright pink, when you actually come to apply it, it's more of a muted raspberry shade. It's pretty, but I prefer a bit more pigmentation to my lipsticks when I deviate from the nude shades. It would make a really nice daytime shade in the spring though.
This lipstick does apply really nicely though, and gives a really even finish. It's a lustre finish, hence the lack of pigmentation I guess, but this does mean it's really soft on the lips and leaves a slight glossy finish. This does fade away quite quickly though, so you do need to reapply quite often.
