Life in February
During February I reached a very big (it was big to me anyway!) blogging milestone - 100 Bloglovin' followers! It was a complete and utter shock to me when it happened, as I wasn't expecting it so soon. I wanted to thank you all for taking the time to read my little, so I am currently running a MAC lipstick giveaway - if you haven't already entered you can do so here.
My boyfriend and I have been so organised this month when it has come to our wedding. We've organised so many appointments and booked so many things this month, we're now pretty much done! You may remember in January we picked out our wedding rings. We were able to pick these up from the store at the start of February and I got my engagement ring back at the same time - I was able to wear it again for the first time in months! After not having it for so long, it felt weird to be wearing a ring again - like when we first got engaged! We really feel like we can relax a bit more knowing we only have such a small amount of things left to do - I can't believe it's now less than 3 months til the big day!
Of course spending all of this money on a wedding means there's little left for other things at the moment. Unfortunately, my brain seems to forget this whenever I end up in town and I have been shopping again this month - not as bad as I was in January I might add! I picked up a few little treats for myself on a shopping trip to Birmingham with my bridesmaids (which was meant to be to buy their shoes for the wedding, but that was a massive fail!). As a result of my overspending over the last couple of months, I'm issuing myself with a spending cut over the course of March and April (you'll be hearing more about that soon).
The bargain of the month came courtesy of a little purchase I made whilst I was at work. I work for a charity, which has a number of charity shops throughout the Midlands & London. During our quarterly meeting in February, the retail department opened up a little pop-up shop during the break. I scoured the rails, and there were lots of lovely pieces, unfortunately most of it in the wrong size. I did however find the lovely grey blazer in the picture above and snapped it up for the bargain price of £2! Ah, the perks of working for a charity!
I couldn't really talk about February without mentioning Valentines Day could I?! Me and my boyfriend had a quiet night in this year - pizza for dinner, a movie & popcorn snuggled up in bed. It was a lovely quiet night, which was a great way to end what was quite a stressful week at work. Although we couldn't really afford much, my boyfriend did surprise me with the Aromatherapy Associates miniatures set (he does take hints afterall!) and some choccies. He's promised me we'll do Valentines Day on a grander scale next year but, to be honest, I'd rather just do the same thing again!
The best part of February was finding out my auntie is going to be having a baby girl. The gender reveal wasn't really a huge shock for any of us - girls massively outnumber boys on my mum's side of the family, so I was 99.9% sure she was having a girl anyway! But the confirmation meant we could start shopping for baby clothes! Whilst out in Primark, I picked up the adorable shoes above for just £3.50, and also some frilly socks, which were tiny! She's due at the end of June but with my birthday being at the start of July, I'm secretly hoping she'll arrive a little bit late! I have to admit though, with one of my cousins also due to give birth in June, all the baby talk in my family right now is making me a little bit broody!
What have you all been up to in February? Did you all have a good Valentines Day?
