Makeup Revolution Lipsticks

It's been a while since I posted a review from my Makeup Revolution haul *slaps wrist*, but today I'm back with another, and this time it's the turn of their £1 lipsticks. There's so many different shades to choose from, so making my decision on which to buy was quite tricky. Though, to be honest, it wouldn't cost that much to buy the whole collection!

I had ordered four lipsticks, but unfortunately I was emailed shortly after to be told one of my choices was now out of stock (I think it was Enchant). The shades I did receive were Luscious, a vibrant coral-orange, Dusky, a soft pink, and The One, a peach-toned nude.

The formula of these lipsticks is so creamy. They glide on really smoothly and have great pigmentation, though Luscious took slightly more work to get an opaque finish on the lips. Dusky has a slightly frosty finish to it, which I'm normally really not a fan of, but it is only a slight frostiness, so I can overlook it this time, as it's a really pretty colour. My favourite of the three is definitely The One - it's the perfect nude colour and the formula makes it so easy to apply. I've also found it to be the longest wearing of the three.

l-r: Luscious, Dusky, The One
In terms of wear, you get a good three hours, even longer with The One, but you will need to reapply if you eat in that time. When they do start to fade, they do so evenly, so you're not left with patchy looking lips.

The only problem I do have with these lipsticks is the packaging. Whilst they look nice enough, and I like that they have the shade in the lid so you can see which one you are picking, the packaging is really not practical. The lids do not click on very well, so they'll often come off, which is a little worrying if you're leaving them in your makeup bag.

Overall, considering these lipsticks are just £1, they are really good quality, and I would choose these over some lipsticks with a much higher price tag, so it's definitely worth picking up a few shades for your collection - I may try and get my hands on Enchant again! I just wouldn't recommend wearing them for a meal out - either your not going to be able to reapply, or you risk getting lipstick over your handbag and it's contents!

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution lipsticks? What's your favourite shade?
