Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette

Oh my, I think I may have found my new favourite eyeshadow palette! I don't own much Too Faced makeup, it's not really a brand I tend to gravitate towards, but this little palette caught my eye a couple of months ago. I first saw Fleur mention this as her new go-to palette and thought it look stunning and, after seeing so many more reviews crop up with beautiful swatches, I had to have it. I don't really like ordering makeup online - I always worry it will come smashed up or leaking - but I couldn't find this in stores anywhere, the stand was always empty! Luckily mine arrived in tact!

Having seen the old cardboard packaging whilst I was swatching in Boots, I have to say I much prefer the new tin that the shadows now come in. It's a lot sturdier and travel friendly. Inside are nine gorgeous eyeshadows, a mixture of both shimmer and matte, and a how-to guide, with step by step instructions on how to create three different looks - Day, Classic and Fashion. The way that the palette is set out means that each row of shadows is meant be used for each of the three looks, but I like to mix and match the shades too. There's also a mirror behind the how-to booklet which, again, makes this an ideal palette for travel.

One thing I really like about this palette is that the shades you would use for your base colour are around three times the size of the rest of the shades. Obviously these are going to get used up a lot quicker than the others, as the would cover a larger area of your eyelid, so it's a nice touch that they give you more.

The shadows themselves are so silky smooth to touch, even more so than Urban Decay shadows - yes, I said it! They apply and blend out so well and the pigmentation is great with all of the shades, especially the shimmery ones. The one I would watch out for though is Erotica which, as you can see from my swatch below, as quite a bit of glitter in, so you are going to get a little fallout from this one. Once applied, these shadows will last all day with a primer, but you'll still get good wear time if you wear them without a primer.

The Day look - Heaven, Cashmere Bunny & Sexspresso
The Classic look - Silk Teddy, Push-Up & Erotica
The Fashion look - Nudie, Honey Pot & Chocolate Martini
My favourite shade from the palette is Honey Pot. It's a gorgeous warm-toned gold with lots of shimmer to it. It's one of the most buttery soft shades in the palette and blends out beautifully.

I could not recommend this palette enough. I've loved Urban Decay eyeshadows for a long time now, so for me to say this palette beats my Naked palette is a bold statement! It's got the perfect mix of shades for any occasion and the texture & quality of the shadows is excellent. The palette retails for £32 but I managed to pick mine up on offer here.

Have you tried this palette? What's your favourite neutral eyeshadow palette?

  5. I was never a Too Faced user either but not I use their Boudoir Eyes palette every day! So good for green eyes with the more taupey purple shades.
