Makeup Revolution Sugar & Spice Blush Palette

I saw this palette doing the rounds on blogs and Instagram towards the end of last year and it went on my wishlist straight away. Having tried Makeup Revolution blushes before, I knew they were really good quality, but having a palette is so much handier than carrying around several single pans, and the colours in the Sugar & Spice palette looked stunning from swatches I had seen.

This palette is a little out of my comfort zones, with most shades, especially the pinks being quite bright. Normally I would go for quite subtle tones on my cheeks, but these are really easy to work with so you could make the look quite subtle if you wanted to. Me, I'm up for experimenting a little and this palette is perfect for that.

The blushes are really smooth and not at all chalky. They apply really nicely and blend out so easily. Be warned though, they are seriously pigmented - just a dab of your brush in the pan is enough - it's lucky that they are so easily blendable if you do end up going in too heavy handed! The wear time is also really good, and I'll still see a hint of colour on my cheeks at the end of a very long day.

I'm not totally sold on the highlight shade in the top right. It's a little too shimmery for me, but other than that all of the other shades are gorgeous - I especially like the bottom left shade (no names, sorry - my one bugbear about Makeup Revolution palettes!) as it really warms up my complexion. Some people have suggested using the first two shades for contouring. Personally, I think they are a little too pink toned, especially the deeper shade, so I just stick to using them as a regular blusher.

Eight blush shades of such good pigmentation and quality for just £6 is amazing value for money, so I'd definitely recommend picking this up, or one of their other blush palettes if these shades aren't your cup of tea. The Hot Spice palette looks really nice too, and is next on my wishlist!

Have you tried Makeup Revolution blushes? What's your favourite blush palette?
