NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette

Oh my days, I am in love with this palette. I've wanted to try the NARS Dual Intensity eyeshadows since they launched. They looked so pretty wherever I saw them, but at £21 per shadow, I really couldn't justify making a purchase. I first saw images of this palette just before Christmas, and knew instantly that I wanted to buy it, so I waited with bated breath for it's UK release - which seemed like a lifetime by the way!

Top row l-r: Europa, Himalia, Ursa Major, Subra. Bottom row l-r: Andromeda, Lysithea, Giove, Sycorax.
When I finally got my hands on this palette I wasn't disappointed. Luckily I had a days annual leave just after the palette was released, so I could nip into my local Space NK before I missed out - it seemed to be selling out online ridiculously fast! There's a great mix of shades in the palette. I'm a neutral lover at heart but enjoy experimenting with a bit of colour, and this palette gives the best of both worlds without the colour being too OTT.

The shadows are designed to be used both wet and dry, and the palette comes with a mini wet-dry eyeshadow brush, which I've found really handy - surprising for a brush that comes inside a palette! The swatches below are of the shadows when dry. As you can see, most of the shades look beautiful but some are a little underwhelming, and I was worried I had a disappointing palette on my hands, But fear not, use the shades wet and it's a whole other story. You can build up to a really intense look with the shadows when applying with a damp brush, and they blend so easily when wet too. I have to admit, I was a little worried about getting the shadow in the pan wet, but they were absolutely fine afterwards and I was able to use them dry again another day.

The palette will set you back £45, which although it's a pretty hefty price tag, considering the individual shadows are £21 each, I thought this was pretty good value. When I first saw the photos of this palette, I was preparing myself for spending in the region of £60, so this was a pleasant surprise, and I'd definitely recommend picking this palette up if you've got the cash to splash out on it.

Have you tried any of the NARS Dual Intensity eyeshadows?
