Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

I'd seen a lot of positive reviews about this product when it was launched a few months ago, so I knew this would be heading straight into my basket when I went on my birthday shopping trip this month. I'm a huge fan of light bases during the summer months, especially for day to day wear, as I don't want to feel like I've got a tonne of product on my face. And I think I've now found my new favourite summer base.

What stood out to me when I was at the Bare Minerals counter is that there's a pretty decent shade selection for this product, I think there's going to be a colour match out there for most people. The lady at the counter matched me to 02 Vanilla - for once not the palest shade! This is a pretty much perfect match for me, and you really can't tell it's there once I've blended it out.

Rather than your standard foundation, this product is a tinted hydrating gel cream, so it feels much more like a moisturiser when you apply it, and works really well when it's applied with your fingers - less brushes to pack if you're taking this on holiday with you! Speaking of holidays, this cream contains SPF 30, so it's a good product to wear for a day out in the sun.

It does give a slightly dewy finish to the skin - something that my dry skin quite likes but oilier girls may want to apply a bit of powder to tone it down a little. Although it's lightweight, it still gives pretty decent coverage, hiding any redness I have. It leaves my skin with a naturally radiant finish and because of the skincare properties it has, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and nourished too.

I'm so pleased I purchased this, I've been wearing it as my everyday base since I bought it at the start of the month and have surprisingly used very little of it, so although it is a little pricey at £26, I'd consider it to be good value for money. I think I may have jinxed the weather with my "summer" base though - it's been miserable since I started trying this out! Fingers crossed August will be sunnier!

Have you tried the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue? What's your favourite summer base?

  1. I've heard so much good stuff about Bare Minerals but I'm yet to try anything! I feel like such a bad blogger. This looks awesome though, not too cakey like traditional complexion creams. I'll have to have a look next time I pass their concession stand.
